FLIPPING REGIMENT
Despite the appalling weather, forty young members of the Future Leaders In Philanthropy (FLIP) project spent a day of leadership training and team-building with the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. Held at a rain-swept, Buffadero Training Centre, a paintballing competition went ahead as planned but the weather meant that most of the other activities, such as command tasks and fitness sessions, had to be switched inside. The project members also took part in a laser weapon competition in the Dismounted Close Combat Trainer.

FLIP STUDENTS BEGIN THEIR CHARITY FUNDRAISING EVENTS
The first intake of students on the Future Leaders in Philanthropy (“FLIP”) project have now been set the target of raising £2,000 for their local chosen charity. With help from family and friends, each student has to organise a fundraising event of their choice. For many of the Year 13 students, this will be their first experience of organising such an event and they are all excited about reaching their target.

OCTOBER 2009 - SECOND FLIP INTAKE LAUNCHED
[Gibraltar, 30 October 2009] Credit Suisse (Gibraltar) Limited and The Bonita Trust of Gibraltar are proud to announce the launch for the second intake of their jointly funded project “Future Leaders in Philanthropy” (FLIP) on 18th November 2009 at Westside School, open to all Year 12 students who have attained at least 5 A’s at GCSE level.
Aimed at local students aged sixteen and over, FLIP is a 3-year project which has been established to raise awareness and understanding of social responsibility amongst this age group. The project seeks to educate teenagers about the value and societal benefits of philanthropic gift-giving, as well as teaching them how to manage their own charitable funds.
